Body Reporting
Find a body, start the chaos: the moment silence breaks into suspicion.
Body Reporting is the fundamental mechanic of the Among Us universe that triggers the critical cycle of investigation and accusation. It occurs when a Crewmate discovers the lifeless form of a colleague, typically resulting from an Impostor's sabotage or direct elimination. By interacting with the body, the discoverer forces an Emergency Meeting to convene, halting all tasks and forcing every player to gather in the meeting room to discuss the murder.

Lore & Background
The reporting mechanic is designed to test trust in an environment where betrayal is inevitable. While finding a body confirms an Impostor is present and active, it also reveals the reporter's location and timing, making them a potential target for future sabotage or elimination. The tension lies in the uncertainty: was the reporter a witness to a crime, or are they framing someone? This mechanic drives the psychological warfare that defines life on these ships.
In Their Own Story
The airlock hissed shut behind me as I turned the corner into Electrical, my heart hammering against my ribs. There, slumped against the wall of wires, lay Red. His visor was dark, a stark contrast to the blinking lights above. I froze, knowing that touching him would change everything. With trembling hands, I reached out and pressed the report button. The ship's alarms blared instantly, shattering the silence. 'Emergency Meeting called by Blue,' the intercom crackled. As the doors opened and the crew poured in, their faces hidden behind those blank visors, I realized I had just started a hunt where I might be the next one to fall.
Reader's Guide
Body Reporting is initiated when a Crewmate interacts with a dead body found anywhere on the map. This action immediately triggers an Emergency Meeting, gathering all living players in the meeting room to discuss the event.
During this meeting, players vote to eject a suspected Impostor based on alibis and behavioral analysis. If the majority votes for the correct Impostor, the Crewmates gain a significant advantage; if they vote out an innocent Crewmate, the Impostors win points toward victory.
The mechanic drives social deduction by forcing players to reconcile their private observations with public claims. A reporter must justify why they were in that location and what they saw, while others may lie to cover their tracks. The fear of being reported also influences Impostor behavior, as leaving a body unreported allows them to blend in longer but risks the Crewmates completing too many tasks.
